The Mold Maker is responsible for setting up and operating conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metal parts and to perform repairs for molds for injection or compression molding of plastic products in a clean room environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble or disassemble molds in a neat and orderly fashion, holding to the highest standard of quality while working in a timely manner
Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications and make adjustments as necessary
File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together
Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools
Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
Perform maintenance on close tolerance injection molds when needed
Assist other tooling personnel with projects, when necessary, to achieve on time delivery commitments
Know status and whereabouts of details on the floor at any given time
Adhere to schedule for work priorities and utilize checklist for detail instructions
Check that all operations are complete for critical frame dimensions and
Complete mold inspection check list
Notify management of any problems or delays that will impact the company’s ability to support established goals
Keep work area clean and organized
Follow all safety procedures
Assist in training and advising apprentice
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is a must
7+ years’ experience in mold or tool repair related experience in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with Nissei, Engel, Arbug or Mitsubishi injection molding machines
Ability to work overtime on weekend if needed
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Outlook.
Salary range: $24.00/hr – $35.00/hr
