RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the development of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Quality Control Plans, Inspection requirements, technologies and techniques, and In-Process Inspection Reports during the design phase of new process development.
  • Lead studies to analyze, establish, and improve labor requirements and technologies and techniques.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Planning processes.
  • Identify opportunities to continually refine and improve Plastikon’s internal process capability through use of quality tools.
  • Implement and manage internal Statistical Process Control Program for Critical to Customer (CTC) and Critical to Process (CTP) characteristics.
  • Write, revise and verify quality standards and procedures for inspection and measurement methods as needed.
  • Develop sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years related experience.
  • Certified in AIAG Core tools

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience in developing AIAG compliant Process Flows, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and (PFMEA) Control Plans.
  • Experience with APQP process – manufacturing feasibility, new product launches, safe launch procedures and Run @ rate /capacity planning
  • Experience in developing PPAP documentation for product launches or new process implementation and submitting in customer portals for approval
  • Knowledge of creating Standard Operating procedures, Quality alerts and Quality inspection reports
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and experience in performing internal/product and process audits. Exposure to external IATF 16949 (surveillance and recertification audits) and Customer audits.
  • Knowledge of QMS procedures and documentations – Experience in reporting COPQ and KPI data.
  • Experience in working with problem solving tools like 8D, 5 Whys, Drill deep, Drill wide Read across, and reporting the same in customer portals.
  • Experience in use of CMM, micrometer, calipers, feeler gage, radius gage, height gage and attribute gages.
  • Experience in Measurement Systems Analysis for Variable and Attribute systems
  • Monitoring critical parameters for a process or critical dimensions for a product using Control charts and analyze Statistical Process Control using Minitab.
  • Familiarization with blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing tools like 5S, Standardized cell layout, Line balancing and Kanban systems in a production floor or in a simulated manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge of production/engineering of injection molded plastics.
  • Experience in leading and training quality team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced mathematical skills are essential.
