Responsibilities will include directing, training, and monitoring technicians in process controls, process adjustments, preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities to ensure the company’s machinery, systems, and equipment operate reliably and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes optimization using scientific molding principles to develop initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Facilitates the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results. Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of manufacturing from pilot runs through normal production.
  • Works with internal departments on new project start-ups with a transition into production.
  • Hands-on support and troubleshoot manufacturing problems and processes, especially those requiring immediate attention.
  • Analyzes process failures for root cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Anticipate cost avoidance opportunities and achieving cost reduction opportunities.
  • Provides process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Trains and mentors’ others on the latest problem solving, set-up and processing techniques.
  • Supports production staff with problem solving, discrepancy resolution and training.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Creates processes which reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance.
  • Develops process set-up sheets, standard operating procedures and assists in creating department policies.
  • Trains and guides resources as needed.
  • Oversees processing of injection molding, blow-fill-seal molding, pre-form processing and packaging equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in injection molding plastics products and processes
  • 2 years’ experience utilizing statistical techniques (design of experiments, measurement R&R, and statistical process control)
  • 3 years’ experience in producing Class II medical devices and/or pharmaceutical blow fill seal
  • Ability to Lead like an Owner
