PMO Manager
Engineering / Lawrence, Kansas
Plastikon Healthcare is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a PMO Manager. The responsibilities of the PMO Manager include managing the day-to-day activities in the PMO, providing guidance on PMO policies and processes, overseeing project management staff, and collaborating with other department leaders to develop projects and programs. To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch PMO Manager should be well organized and able to work under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will collaborate with varying levels of leadership and will serve in an advisory and consultative role to partners on all project-related activities.

Identify & lead cross-dependencies, dedicatedly resolving issues and determining solution

Collaborate with site leaders, project managers, engineers, and others to define and support project methodology, project work, project cost tracking, training, compliance and strategic plans for ongoing and future initiatives

Organization, critical thinking, and communication skills to support these initiatives and support the department and organization in all facets of planning, cost tracking, project management, department activities, training and other support functions as needed
Strategy and Governance (50%)

Establish a centralized PMO and create a Center of Excellence for the organization promoting quality standards, cost consciousness, quantitative based performance metrics, and repeatable processes

Create standard communication practices in the engineering and maintenance department to deliver project information in a repeatable and understandable format to leadership and customers as needed

Define and evangelize the process and procedures to successfully implement solutions from idea to post implementation support

Liaise with leaders across the entire organization to understand upcoming transformation needs and roadmap priorities in alignment with operational and leadership goals

Provide leadership and vision regarding requirements, in compliance training for current and new systems, projects and processes
Prioritization and Delivery (25%)

Collaborate with Project Manager’s and organization leaders on focused solution delivery and prioritization of project/projects milestones in alignment with operations

Continually monitor and develop timeline of in progress and upcoming projects with project managers, engineering, maintenance and operations group

Develop a standardized information sharing process to provide insight into the entire project pipeline and to record valuable input from team members at all levels of the organization
Financial and Performance Management (25%)

Participate in annual financial budgeting/planning processes, work with teams to estimate project costs and total cost of ownership for solutions

Present project financial status with expected future financial impact to leadership on a monthly basis and provide ongoing KPI’s to leadership

Partner with all departments in the organization to prepare benefit cases for future solutions

Ensure actual costs are recorded and tracked against budgeted amounts

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Candidate Must Have:
-
BS in a technical field
-
2+ years of Engineering experience
-
2+ years of Project Engineering/Management experience, handling complete project cycle

Experience in an FDA regulated manufacturing plant
-
Excellent people, team working and computer skills
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced plant environment
-
Able to mentor, support, train junior engineers as needed
Candidate Nice to Have:
-
BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
-
Some advanced engineering, or Project Management Professional (PMP) or P.E. certification
-
Some experience with FDA, OSHA, EPA, regulations and compliance
-
Experience in the Pharma / Medical Device industry
-
Knowledge of Sterile Aseptic Filling Operations

Startup or Small company experience working in a dynamic and hands-on role

Contract Manufacturing experience working closely with customers and clients
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Required reading, writing, and speaking fluently in English.
