The Mold Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining molds for injection or compression molding of plastic products in a clean room environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using company software, monitor and track progress of job towards completion
  • Follow written as well as verbal line ups
  • File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify molds ,dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools
  • Inspect finished molds for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
  • Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers
  • Set up and operate drill presses, surface grinders, manual mills, lathes to manufacture and or modify parts for assembly
  • Perform final assembly of the mold
  • Repair and fitting of tool components and assembly of components into mold base for finished tool
  • Broad knowledge of molding and mold repair with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
  • Complete mold inspection check list
  • Notify management of any problems or delays that will impact the company’s ability to support established goals
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Follow all safety procedures

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering field is a must
  • 5+ years’ experience in mold or tool repair related experience in a manufacturing environment; clean room environment experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Nissei, Engel, Arbug or Mitsubishi injection molding machines
  • Ability to work overtime on weekend if needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is a guideline and compensation will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skill level, experience, education and training, and work location.

  • California: $23.00 per hour – $25.00 per hour
