The Mold Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining molds for injection or compression molding of plastic products in a clean room environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Using company software, monitor and track progress of job towards completion

Follow written as well as verbal line ups

File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together

Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify molds ,dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools

Inspect finished molds for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects
-
Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers

Set up and operate drill presses, surface grinders, manual mills, lathes to manufacture and or modify parts for assembly

Perform final assembly of the mold

Repair and fitting of tool components and assembly of components into mold base for finished tool

Broad knowledge of molding and mold repair with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems

Complete mold inspection check list

Notify management of any problems or delays that will impact the company’s ability to support established goals

Keep work area clean and organized
-
Follow all safety procedures
