Logistics Assistant Manager
The Logistics Assistant Manager coordinates all Warehouse and logistics operations of the site: supervision of warehouse personnel, receiving, storing, and shipping under customer expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages day to day activities of Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse teams
- Assist in leading the logistics team to meet production control and logistics objectives
- Ensure adequate staffing, training and development of Warehouse team members
- Coordinate all transfers between buildings, schedule daily routing of company vehicles and movement of products into and out of warehouse/production facilities
- Ensure warehouse space is utilized effectively and maintained cleaned through 5S standards and in conformance to policies and procedures and GMP’s
- Provide feedback and suggestions for continual improvement and develop standardized work procedures and examine work for accuracy neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of both product and paperwork from support staff
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of inventory and cycle count
- Maintain security of warehouse and equipment
- Ensure the safety of all associates by following safety protocol and accident reporting guidelines
- Convey issues to management in a timely manner
- Assist Operations Manager with KPIs monitoring to ensure targets are met
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have 8+ years of warehouse management experiencing in transferring materials between multiple facilities and managing 500+SKUs
- High School, GED or equivalent
- Must have experience in supporting production in a manufacturing environment
- Must have experience in using Kanban, EDI and Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN)
- Must have supervisory experience in managing 30 or more team members
- A strong background in logistics including domestic and international shipping and receiving, delivery and inventory
- Must be able to operate forklift
- Experience with RF scanner preferred
- Familiar with safety rules in Warehouse
- Knowledge of ERP system preferred
- Proficient in Outlook and Internet Explorer
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
